Who is RJS Productions

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved making fun, creative videos for people to enjoy. Any time there was a school project, I’d turn it into a video—using film to teach and entertain my classmates in a way that felt engaging and memorable. When I got to Whitman college, I realized this passion wasn’t just a hobby—it could be a serious area of study and a lifelong activity. I decided to major in Environmental Studies-Politics and Film & Media Studies, and I have used both majors to bridge the gap between storytelling and my passion with the Environment.

I’m especially drawn to documentary filmmaking. There’s something powerful about how a film can tell a story that connects people across different backgrounds and experiences. I believe film is one of the most universal forms of storytelling—it invites people in, asks them to listen, and helps them see the world through someone else’s eyes.

Film is what people watch. It’s everywhere—on our phones, in theaters, in classrooms, on social media—and that reach is exactly why it matters. It’s the medium that has the power to make a difference, to shift perspectives, to spark change. I want to use that power with intention. My work focuses on uplifting voices that often go unheard and bridging the gap between those stories and the audiences that need to hear them. That’s the art of film to me: it’s for everyone.

I love being involved in every part of the process—from brainstorming and shooting to editing and final cuts. While I’m well-versed in all stages of production, you’ll most often find me directing or editing, where I can really shape the vision and rhythm of a project.

At the heart of everything I make is the desire to tell stories that matter—and to make sure they’re heard.
